A planet that warms more than 1.5°C is simply uninsurable. So why is AIG still recklessly backing fossil fuels and driving climate chaos?

AIG’s support of the oil and gas industry's expansion is unacceptable. The urgency of the climate crisis demands that AIG end insurance coverage and investments in new fossil fuel projects immediately, and rapidly phase out all coverage of fossil fuels.

While AIG's existing climate policies are an improvement, the risks of climate chaos are escalating, threats to the health and land rights of communities are intensifying, and slow progress is not good enough. AIG needs to rule out support for harmful oil and gas expansion projects around the world, including the East African Crude Oil Pipeline and Ichthys LNG in Australia.
