Add Your Name: Protect USPS workers from deadly heat

Heat stress causes symptoms like dizziness, fatigue and impaired coordination — all of which pose real dangers to our hardworking postal workers as they deliver mail this summer.

Postal workers can’t afford to wait around while the government slowly moves forward with creating a national heat protection standard.

Tell the United States Postal Service to act now to protect workers from deadly heat:

To the United States Postal Service

While the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is working on a national heat protection standard, it won’t go into effect until 2026 or later.

Postal workers are suffering and dying in the heat — they can’t afford to wait.

I strongly urge you to immediately adopt OSHA’s proposed heat standard to protect postal workers from heat-related illness, injury, and death through simple protocols like providing them with water, breaks, and a place to cool off.
