Call Congress: Don’t let Trump pull out of the World Health Organization

By announcing his intention to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO), Trump is sending a crystal-clear signal that America is abandoning its global health leadership.

This shortsighted decision is a major setback for public health in America and around the world — but there’s still time to reverse it.

Call your members of Congress and urge them to advocate for remaining in the World Health Organization:

Call (202) 224-3121 to reach the Capitol Switchboard and ask to speak to one of your members of Congress. You can only call one at a time, so you’ll need to call a total of three times to reach your representative and both senators.

Once you’re connected, here’s what you could say:

“My name is ______ and I live in ______, STATE.

I’m calling because I’m deeply concerned about the United States withdrawing from the World Health Organization. Being part of the WHO strengthens America’s leadership in global health, helps prevent outbreaks before they reach our shores, and protects American workers and businesses from illnesses like the flu.

Please do everything you can to keep the U.S. in the WHO and continue to fund its vital work. Thank you for your time.”

(Please note: If one or all of your members of Congress is not taking calls at this time, you could call their local office or send a message through their website.)
