Keynote Speaker

Honoring

Since 2009, Senator Jeff Merkley has represented Oregon in the U.S. Senate. Senator Merkley is a strong advocate for our democracy and has been a champion in the fight to expand voting rights, get dark money out of our electoral system, and end partisan gerrymandering. The Senator also leads a national effort to restore the Senate’s ability to deliver on important priorities for the American people, while preserving its traditional role of promoting deliberation and negotiation.

Rohit Chopra served as the 3rd Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau from 2021 to 2025. He previously served as a Commissioner on the Federal Trade Commission from 2018 to 2021. He also served on the team that launched the CFPB and led the agency's work to tackle the student loan crisis.

Litigating for Accountability During the Trump Administration

All proceeds from the 2025 Soirée and Fundraiser will benefit Public Citizen’s Litigating for Trump Accountability Campaign.

Public Citizen’s Litigating for Trump Accountability Campaign aims to:

  • Litigate to expose, slow and, where possible, derail the Trump administration’s ideologically extremist, corporate-friendly, anti-civil rights, anti-democratic agenda;

  • Shine a Light on Trump Administration Abuses;

  • Root Out Industry Conflicts and Self-Dealings;

  • Defend Health, Safety, Worker, Environmental, Civil Rights and Other Regulatory Protections; and

  • Block the Use of Unlimited Executive Power and the Trump spending agenda.
