Artificial intelligence is continuing to grow in both power and popularity, and it’s only getting easier for people to misuse it to hurt others.
For example, some people target others (overwhelmingly women and girls) with AI-generated intimate “deepfakes” — false but convincing images or videos that depict people naked or engaged in sexual acts.
These deepfakes can cause serious harm. Victims have reported experiencing significant emotional distress and trauma, as well as damage to their reputations and careers.
Please email your state legislators. Ask them to pass legislation that would criminalize the distribution of non-consensual intimate AI images that are created to harass or humiliate others.
