We expect public parks to be safe places to gather and play.
There are 18 aggregate facilities, such as rock crushers or concrete batch plants, within a mile of MoneyGram Soccer Park in northwest Dallas, including one right next door. Concrete batch plants emit fine particulate matter that can embed deeply in the lungs and cause serious respiratory and cardiovascular problems, including irregular heartbeat, aggravated asthma, decreased lung function, and difficulty breathing.
The Dallas City Council will vote on Wednesday, May 28, on whether or not to allow another batch plant near the park. Please email the Mayor and Council now to ask that they deny the zoning request for another batch plant near MoneyGram Soccer Park.
