Call Congress: End Trump’s armed takeover of DC

Call Congress: End Trump’s armed takeover of DC

Trump declared a crime emergency in DC and is putting military personnel on the streets in an authoritarian show of force.

Representative Jamie Raskin and Senator Chris Van Hollen are pushing back with a joint resolution to terminate Trump’s emergency declaration.

We need as many elected officials as possible to join them and stand up against Trump’s power grab!

Call your members of Congress and urge them to support Rep. Raskin and Sen. Van Hollen’s termination resolution.

We have to stop Trump’s armed takeovers here, before he spreads them to the rest of the country.

Call (202) 224-3121 to reach the Capitol Switchboard and ask to speak to one of your members of Congress. You can only call one at a time, so you’ll need to call a total of three times if you want to reach your representative and both senators.

Once you’re connected to their office staff, here’s what you could say:

“Hello, my name is _____ and I live in _____, STATE. I’m calling because I want you to support the resolution to terminate the DC crime emergency and reject any bill attempting to extend it.

Federal agents in DC are armed, sometimes unidentified, and moving in gangs through DC neighborhoods. They’re confronting people who are simply at home, driving to work, or just minding their own business.

The occupying federal forces are an ongoing and increasing danger to DC residents. Please take action to end Trump’s takeover as soon as possible.

Thank you for your time.”

(Please note: If one or all of your members of Congress are not taking calls at this time, you could call their local office or send a message through their website.)
