Stop government officials from betting on war, terrorism, and assassination

An anonymous account on online prediction website Polymarket, trading under the username “Magamyman”, made more than $553,000 by betting about Iran and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei shortly before an Israeli airstrike killed him.

We don’t know who “Magamyman” is. This person could have no connection to the president other than (if the username is any indication) being a fan. But the timing and size of the bets suggest there could have been insider knowledge of political events about to take place.

And the Trump Administration isn’t doing enough to prevent people from betting on these gruesome outcomes and potentially benefitting from insider knowledge when doing so.

It’s up to Congress to act.

Please email your members of Congress. Urge them to prevent government officials from profiting off bets on prediction websites like Kalshi and Polymarket, and ban betting on gruesome acts like terrorism and war.
