Ed, the Denton City Council will *not* vote on a Denton Municipal Electric (DME) proposal that would devalue rooftop solar on Tuesday as anticipated. However, there are still important ways to get involved tomorrow and beyond. The City Council will still discuss the DME proposal during a work session on Tuesday starting at 2:00 p.m. at City Hall. You can watch the work session, but there will be no opportunity to offer public comment. If you can’t attend the work session, you can still make a difference by emailing the City Council (and encouraging your network to do the same). If you've already sent an email, the best way to weigh in is by picking up the phone. Below are the numbers to reach the office of your local representatives. We have some guidance for you if you need help with what to say when you call. Mayor Hudspeth, 940-349-7717 Vicki Byrd (District 1), 940-208-6346 Brian Beck (District 2), 940-293-7611 Paul Meltzer (District 3), 940-230-3591 Joe Holland (District 4), 940-208-4013 Brandon Chase McGee (At Large Place 5), 940-293-3569 Jill Jester (At Large Place 6), [email protected]
We’ll keep you updated on the DME proposal, and we’ll be back in touch when we learn when the Council will take it. Thank you for everything you do.
